Kelly is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over ten years of experience in the behavioral and mental health fields. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Kelly has worked at various Bay Area agencies including Gateway Learning Group, Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center of Silicon Valley, and the Institute for Health and Healing at California Pacific Medical Center.
Kelly is trained in using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to treat anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression in children, teens, and adults. She has specialized training in treating social anxiety in teens and adults. Kelly also specializes in treating tics and Tourette’s Disorder and is trained in using CBIT (Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics). She treats trichotillomania and excoriation (skin-picking) in children, teens, and adults.
Kelly has significant experience in using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to treat behavior problems in children and teens and has worked with families of children with a variety of diagnoses, including Autism, Asperger’s, and various genetic disorders, to help the family through the initial transition after diagnosis and provide behavior intervention plans for symptom reduction.
With a background in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Kelly is strongly grounded in empirically-validated approaches that allow clients to see results and symptom relief quickly. Kelly strives to create a warm and open environment and provide a pragmatic approach to solving problems where clients feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves. Her focus is on creating positive behavior changes that are meaningful to each individual and support both the child and parent with a plan and strategies that allow for collaborative treatment during the therapy process.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, and exploring all over the Bay area with her husband and son.
