Kimberly de Caires is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with children, adolescents, and families providing creative and playful behavioral and mental health interventions in clinic, community mental health and school settings for over nine years.
Kimberly combines warmth, compassion and cultural responsiveness to meet children, adolescents and adults where they are and to support them throughout their growth and healing process.
Informed by attachment, developmental and systems theories, Kimberly
takes into account the person in their environment using a strengths-based, trauma-informed perspective to cultivate collaboration, teach new skills and support an increased balance between mind, body and spirit.
Kimberly’s specialities include anxiety-related issues, attachment, life transitions, grief and loss, depression, self-esteem, self-regulation and co-regulation, parenting challenges and trauma.
Kimberly is a native San Franciscan and a graduate of the San Francisco State University Masters in Social Work program. She holds two teaching certificates including a pupil personnel certificate for school social work as well as an early childhood education permit. Kimberly is a certified yoga instructor with additional training in trauma-informed yoga practices and has a decades long mindfulness meditation practice.
Kimberly has a passion for travel and has volunteered internationally providing support to children exposed to complex trauma in an orphanage in Manzanillo, Mexico and with children and caregivers impacted by HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa.
